Family Therapy
Families really are the nucleus of our lives. As children, they are the springboard for our psychological and emotional growth. As parents, they are the source of our pride and joy. But maintaining a healthy environment within the family system is sometimes challenging. Individual family members and the family as a whole sometimes confront issues adversely affecting everyone. In those times, families unfortunately can develop schisms or ruptures. Changes and turbulence, however uncomfortable or distressing, can yield opportunities for healthy individual and family development.
Here at WGP, we utilize Family Systems, Interpersonal Neurobiological, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Attachment-Focused Family Therapy, and Multigenerational Theories when working with family systems. All of our therapeutic interventions are trauma-informed, as one of our primary specializations is trauma and post-traumatic stress and how these impact family dynamics. We provide help with the following issues that families sometimes face:
Divorce/Separation
Split Family/Coparenting
Life or Developmental Transitions
